Search Engine Optimization fondly known as SEO is a very important part of website optimization that every Website owner should understand.
There are various views on the relevance of the following tips with regard to the SEO of your website. The importance of these factors varies depending on the project, the focus or goal of your website. These tips set forth below are the basic recommendations that should be considered for the proper indexing of our pages in search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing.
1. Title Page (Title Tag label or title)
The title is probably the second item (after content) that is more important for proper SEO of our website optimization. Search engines consider (Google, Yahoo, Bing) the title as one of the most significant factors in determining the subject of our pages, and it is therefore important to communicate in the best way possible.
Where do we find the title of our pages? The title does not appear in the visible content, this is displayed in the title bar of the browser (or tabs) and in search results. Besides being optimized for search engines, the title should be attractive, because it also depends on a visitor decides to enter our web site instead of other options that appear above or below on the same results page.
The title should contain a maximum of 70 characters, to make sure it is displayed in its entirety in the Google search results page. If greater will see that the text is cut and the end appears (…) Studies show that fewer visits generally occur in the results whose title is clipped against the show’s full title. Our titles should be done naturally, always containing the main keyword we chose for our article or page, and if possible to limit the number of words that do not provide relevant information, such as “” “to”, etc.. The title should be unique for each page.
2. Description Meta (Meta Description)
As the name suggests, the Meta description is a label that describes our article or page, something like the synopsis of a particular page. Like the title (Title Tag), the Target Location on the content displayed in the browser, but in the search results beneath the title.
We should write appropriate to our pages, otherwise descriptions seekers can choose to display an alternative description text taken from our website if you think this way best summarizes the content of our website, and may not be the most suitable for the purpose of our website. Must be relevant, without falling into the Spam must be attractive enough to achieve that users prefer to enter our web site instead of the other results displayed on the same search page. Must contain at least our Key Principal Word and do it naturally, not forced. Should be understandable, not just a list of key words and search engines may penalize excessive use of keywords (Keywords), this description will read the users and must make sense to them.
The maximum length can be up to 155 characters, including spaces, but better to keep a range of 130-145 characters as search engines may include the date of our next article description. If we exceed the number of recommended browsers display characters (…) as occurs with the Title and this can even if it is too long to be penalized in addition to wasting the user information is not displayed.
3. Keywords (Meta Keywords)
According to Google the keys or Meta Keywords Words were no longer taken into account long ago. However, we recommend to continue to use and comply with the appropriate parameters not more than 8 keywords separated by commas, in lower case and without accents.
The key words are still relevant because based on our content can make an analysis and determine which are our key words in an article or webpage specified. This exercise will be very useful to determine our title to our goal description, headers and our website. In the contents of each of our pages the keyword you have chosen for that page should appear, as well as other related Keywords always without abuse and without falling into the Spam. Normally Google does not index and categorize pages using only one Keyword, but analyzes the content and take those that are most relevant in the overall context. Theoretically, each page should be optimized for a single Keyword, but when writing, introduce other words or phrases that sometimes cause your pages to also appear in multiple searches related to your main keyword.
4. Structure of the web
You should organize the content according to the publishing system that we have selected. For example, if you use WordPress, you could arrange the items through a system of categories, items. And if we have developed our website in HTML you can be organized into folders or directories within our server. A well structured website is critical to optimizing our website (SEO)
The more simple and better organized is the structure of your site, your pages will be more accessible and easier to index.
5. Page Content
For Google to index your page, it must have content, i.e. text, images, videos… content that will be analyzed and used, among other things, to designate the relevance of your page in the niche in which it is located, so the content is one of the most important factors to consider for the SEO of your website optimization.
Unique Quality content is essential for SEO. Analysis of key phrases we discussed previously helps us to create optimized content or improve the existing one. Although this process can be performed after publication, it is best done from the beginning. Keep in mind that you want to attract visitors who may be interested in your site, and thus must find interesting content and corresponding to the search they have made. It is important to create unique and quality content , thinking not only attract maximum number of visitors, but to attract the maximum number of qualified visitors who can benefit from what you offer.
Although there is no complete consensus on the length of our articles, it is recommended that the page contains at least 400 words.
The content must be appealing and especially useful for visitors.
