CORD Leader Raila Odinga had promised to set up his presidential website in preparation for the 2017 general elections so as to allow a chance for the youth to interact more with him. The website was to provide extra information about his motives, drug abuse and diaspora voting.
In a recent media interview he explained why he launched the website and these are his words:
"The website came about as a push from students across the country that often requested online for a forum of engagement. After meeting a section of them in my office, it became clearer to me that the divide between public servant and the citizenry was too wide and I needed to do something to bridge that gap.
There have been many myths in the section of the media that this website is a campaign tool. Although that is not the case, this website among other reasons, is a platform for me to interact directly with the people and hear their grievances."
He also plans to fight drug abuse and unemployment of the youth.
